Dr. Marshala Lee-McCall is a board-certified family physician, public health leader, and the founder of the Sick and Tired Health & Wellness LLC. A proud native of Mississippi, she is deeply grounded in the lived realities of marginalized communities and brings a lifelong commitment to advancing health equity. Inspired by the legacy of civil rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer, Dr. Lee-McCall works to dismantle systemic barriers and co-create wellness solutions that are just, inclusive, and sustainable.
Dr. Lee-McCall is a national speaker and subject matter expert on issues related to health equity, anti-racism in medicine, community engagement, and inclusive mentorship. With over 20 years of experience in grant writing and more than a decade of reviewing federal, state, and private grants, she provides expert guidance on program development and funding strategy. She is also a seasoned community organizer, with a track record of building coalitions, mobilizing communities, and leading advocacy campaigns focused on health justice, environmental equity, and systemic reform.
Dr. Lee-McCall earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she completed a concentration in Advocacy and Activism, and was recently honored with Brown’s Junior Alumni Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award. She holds a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she was a Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Minority Health Policy. She completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Maryland, with a focus on primary care access, health disparities, and community engagement.
Dr. Lee-McCall has been recognized with several awards for her leadership and advocacy, including the Delaware Business Times 40 Under 40 Award, the AIDS Delaware Community Partnership Award, and national honors from the National Medical Association. Through TSAT, she provides consulting, training, and strategic advising to organizations committed to confronting health disparities and building more just and resilient systems.
In her free time, Dr. Marshala Lee-McCall finds joy and balance in her roles beyond medicine. She is a devoted mom to her son Jason Jr., a proud fur mom, and the loving wife of Jason McCall Sr. She cherishes her connections as a sister and aunt, and proudly serves as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she continues her lifelong commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. Marshala loves to travel and explore new cultures, often finding inspiration for her equity work through global perspectives. Deeply rooted in community, she also serves on the boards of several nonprofits, including AIDS Delaware and Communities In Schools of Delaware, where she helps shape programs that support youth, families, and underserved communities.
